Pattern Definition

The bullish kicker is a powerful two-candle reversal: a bearish candle followed by a bullish candle that gaps open above the first candle's open. The two candles move in completely opposite directions.

Market Psychology

Sudden dramatic reversal of market sentiment. Major positive overnight news causes a gap-up open that completely ignores the prior day's decline. Massive money changed its view overnight — a very strong bullish signal.

Trading Application

Immediate strong bullish signal (win rate 76%). Enter long after the second bullish candle closes or at next day's open. Stop-loss below the second candle's open. Target = prior highs.

Important Notes

The key is the gap: the second candle must open above the first candle's open with a gap. A reversal without a gap is not a kicker.
