The shooting star appears at uptrend extremes with an upper shadow at least 2× the body length and little or no lower shadow. The body can be bullish or bearish. It shows bulls drove price much higher but bears pushed it back sharply.
Strong bearish rejection at the highs. Bulls rallied price aggressively but bears sold heavily at the peak, driving price back near the open. A longer upper shadow = more aggressive bear suppression.
Appears at clear uptrend extremes or key resistance (win rate 66%). Wait for a confirming bearish candle next day before entering short. Stop-loss above the shooting star's high.
Most reliable at the end of clear uptrends. A bearish body is slightly stronger. Volume expansion helps.
